Public Sewage Line in Kerry

    Hi there,

I wrote some time ago to ask whether a particular area of of Kerry, currently served only by individual waste treatment systems and septic tanks, was due for upgrade to a public sewage system at any time within the next few years. I was told I should contact Kerry County Council which I did.

    My email:

I have a question which relates to a current planning application xxxxx.

[Address of property] is not hooked up to any public sewage/wastewater scheme at this time. Is there any such facility available for them to connect to if they so wish; and if not, is there any such facility planned for that area in the County Development Plan 2015-2021?

    Their response:

I refer to your query below and wish to confirm that there is no public sewer network serving this property and Kerry County Council is not aware of any plans to provide such infrastructure in the future.  The provision of water or waste water infrastructure is the responsibility of Irish Water.

Given the last sentence of their reply, and as this query relates to a planning appeal, I need a definitive answer from Irish Water as to whether the company currently has any plans  to provide public sewage infrastructure in the area concerned within the next five years.

Kindly contact me ASAP me so I can supply you with the exact location, As the deadline for the appeal is very soon I would appreciate your earliest reply.

    Thanks!
