    Hey folks new to Boards.

I am wanting to start Muay thai, I am 31 I was 17 stone and since January lost 4 stone. I have been in the gym twice a day since January 4th.

I have decided I would love to start Muay thai for Fitness and just basically to learn to fight(not as an aggressor) but the sport is great.

I went to a boxing club and Head clubman told me I was a bit late to be getting involved, im not wanting to compete just enjoy it.

Can anyone recommend a club with beginners on the southside cheers.

    Landers

Where abouts do you live? Champion Muay Thai is off the Long Mile road and looks great.

Any of the Thai clubs I have been to would take beginners at 31. Boxing is different where they are more structured to take on kids.

I started when I was 33 - it's tough but great fun. Hard on the hips/groin area I found so make sure to stretch after.

I've been away from it for a bit but must try to get back.

I thought the age this would be an issue but it's not and shouldn't be - you just need to look after yourself.

Whats up Hooplah, Thank you. Is it a good gym, its actually quite close im in Crumlin.
Yeah i done a bit of striking as a young lad boxing but have been out of it for 15 years.

Id love to reconnect with Muay Thai but dont want the commercialised SBG set ups.
