Canyon Roadlite/Endurace

In the market for an upgrade, currently riding a 2014 Canyon Endurance AL 6.0.

I only commute, it's 12km each way, Firhouse to city centre. Budget is €1,600-2,000, not eligible for BTW.

Had myself set on an Endurace CF SL 7.0 at 1,999 but caught a look at the roadlite CF and considering it too. I've been on dropbars for 10 years but since considering the roadlite, I realise I am pretty much 99% on the hoods.

No particular reason to go Carbon, so open to others too. May even go the AL Roadlite to save €€ but the budget is there.

Any thoughts on going drop to flat? Reason for upgrade is pretty much the N+1 rule and I'd like a new bike :o

Unless your completely set on a flat bar bike then I would recommend sticking with drop handlebars. You may at some stage want to join a club or do a sportive. In both cases drop bar bikes are compulsory.

edit; I think I read you wrong. Your keeping the other bike (with drop bar)? I'd still go for another road bike.

If you want a flat bar, I'd go for this for the wet days and keep the other one for summer

Yeah I’m leaning drop bar, just think the roadlite does look interesting. If I end up going carbon, I’ll keep the current bike for family spins as I can’t put a baby seat on a carbon frame. But sensibility is kicking in and I’m thinking higher spec components on aluminium frame if it’s just a commuter.
