Is toxic masculinity a ''cowardly'' identity?

Wonder what your opinions are on this. My male feminist friend says that toxic masculinity has been responsible for privileged men throughout history abusing those weaker than them (in particular their wives and children) but also dominating primitive tribes like the conquistadors of Spain and the Native Americans.

Do you think he is right? Maybe ''cowardly'' is too strong of a world but there was some study a while back that showed female leaders were more empathetic and rational than male ones. They even said if women had been in some high finance positions in Wall Street, the recession wouldn't have happened.

    It doesn’t exist.

Most men treat the women in their lives better than anyone else.

Society loves labels. Everyone can rally behind a label, until the label doesn't make sense any more and we were wondering what we were arguing about in the first place.

Do people really think about this crap all the time?

Have you no turf to take home?
    No grass to cut?
    No strawberries to water?

Must be a poor life to lead.

    Never trust a male feminist.

Be wary. Any man who identifies as that is most likely hiding some skeletons. It's a powerful ruse used to safely navigate through certain obstacles to get close.

Yep, they were dead right. Women are much more empathetic. That Margaret Thatcher was a right soft sweetheart. :pac:

    Toxic masculinity?

Wait who's playing in the world cup tonight?

I don't believe that anyone actually speaks like that outside of a handful of daft columnists and obsessed internet folk who seem to think they're fighting in the vanguard of some online war.

Is there any way we can bar that phrase from entry into the country?

Uruguay v Russia up now and Richie Sadlier reckons the Ruskies are back on the super-juice.

I'd imagine most men are feminists (wanting equal rights and opportunities for men and women). It's just that the word feminist has become such a loaded term that few people would willingly call themselves feminists.

It maybe the 100th time the topic has been raised here, but I'm sure the thread will be peppered with new, interesting and, as yet, unaired opinions.
