I'm not sure if this is the correct board to have this on so, Admin, please feel free to relocate it.

I am a member of a small community group consisting of 25 elected members. We meet once a month. There is one member who is always very noisy at the meetings. When anybody else is speaking, this member always interrupts and irrespective of how many times the chairperson and other members ask him not to be interrupting and wait for his turn to speak, he persists with his interruption. He only stops speaking when he has said what he wants to say, should this take 30 seconds or 5 minutes. This happens several times during each meeting and some members of the group find his behaviour very annoying. The result of his interruptions is that the speaker who was interrupted has to repeat whatever he/she wanted to say and thus prolonging the meeting. The constitution of the group does not have anything written in it for dealing with situations like this. It has got to the point where some of the female members of the group are saying that they’ll resign because of the noisy member’s behaviour.
Has anybody ever had to deal with a situation like this or does anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks.
