If lidl have one on sale get it. It’s just a husky in different colours. Very good for most work bar felling and bucking large trunks.

You’ll get a handy stihl for around 400. A bit small for logging but ok for other jobs. Another 100-150 and you’ll get a reasonable sized stihl, it won’t be professional spec but plenty good enough for around the farm. There’s a place in bailie borough in Cavan called donegans that a gardener introduced me to that’s excellent to deal with.

I got a Stihl MS211 14" bar about 9 months ago. Has cut everything from light Whitethorn/Blackthorn to 2' diameter fully grown trees and everything in between. Can't fault it as of yet. Is in the tractor at the moment helping to keep the paint on the baler. Just over €400 as far as I can remember and bought locally. Most Stihl dealers will offer the same price on all saws

I'd recommend Stihl too... They're as good as you'll get in a saw, and they are sold and backed up by a professional dealer network.....

Get yourself a Timberpro from ebay. Get it with a 16'' bar not 20'' one. It will cost about 170 euro they are a grand little saw

    Slava Ukrainii

Stihl & Husky v popular & reliable for as long as I have a chainsaw.
Slightly cheaper make is Oleo-Mac ( Italian ) . They do the job & are reliable.

Have a husqvarna 440 for around the farm here as well. Fine and light saw. Easy in your back when bending over. You’d buy them for less the €400 as well.

I bought a Sthl 271 18" bar for around 650 great saw. I bought 2 aldi saws the first one did some savage cutting but gave up after 2 years I also had to do a few repairs on it, the second one very same saw didn't last p1ssing time. If you buy a decent saw it will last and pay for itself.
