Whereabouts in Dublin are you getting married? Peploes on Stephen's Green is nice if you're planning a city centre wedding. What's your budget?

Ah awesome I'll have look, Registry office in Dublin city, so thought keeping the afters in Dublin would be handy for people. We we're trying for maybe 30e a head if possible but not sure if that is possible.. to keep some for wine with dinner etc, only one of us works so budgets tight ðŸ˜

We picked the Cliff at Stephen's green, but that's more expensive. We priced a few places and once yoy tell them you want a meal, they'll charge you group prices. Mind you, many charge extra for the use of a function room, always ask about that.

Schoolhouse would be an option, FX Buckley (fab food and their group options are online). Not a fan of the Morrisons but a lot of people rave about that one. Cleaver East and Pig's Ear. The Dean has decent options too.

Upstairs in the Old Spot - only a 5 min walk from the registry office on Grand Canal St.
One of only two Gastropubs in Dublin in the Michelin Guide. Good value weekday lunch and early bird menu.

Upstairs in the Chophouse would also be high on my list of recommendations. It’s across the road of The Old Spot and is the other gastropub in the Michelin guide! Anthony Bourdain is quoted as saying Chophouse gave him the “best f*****g steak in Dublin” http://thechophouse.ie

You’ve also got Slatterys across the road for the “pint” photo if that’s something you want!

I was at a wedding in Pearl Brasserie and it was really lovely. Food and atmosphere as great. You'll get a number of small and long tables and I think you can talk to them about layout. And they'll go through the menu with you beforehand so you can choose what options you'd like to be included.

There's a place at the top floor of Fallon and Byrne on Wicklow St. Really nice. Was at an afters there.

Have heard about it, too. Really good food in Fallon & Byrne, not sure how many you need to book out a floor, though?

It's not city centre , but not far out at all. We have had several staff functions in Mloughneys in clontarf . €30 a head ( about 50 people) and we get the upstairs to ourselves. Food is always amazing, particularly the chicken liver pâte starter and a salted caramel chocolate tart.

The Old Schoolhouse could be a goer.

We ended up not going here for our wedding as there is no option to have afters at it but I thought it looked lovely http://thewoollenmills.com/events.htm

Looked into there, can't remember exact numbers but I think for a Fri/Sat wedding, you had to have 100+ guests

Wright's Anglers Rest might be a good option. Lovely food and atmosphere. Trad music for your drinks reception too!
