Hey all, just wondering what it's like getting a dart after a concert in the Aviva. Grand Canal and Sandymount will be closed so everyone will be making their way to Landsdowne Road. We'll be getting the Dart to Bray. Or we might drive to Booterstown and come in from there on the Dart. What would people suggest?

    Below is from Irish Rail:

Billy Joel - Aviva June 23rd
Billy Joel returns to Ireland for the first time since 2013 and it will be his only Irish appearance in 2018 and we will be running additional services to get your there and back. For more information on these additional services please see the below,

    Additional Services
Additional services will operate to Bray and Malahide from Landsdowne.
Maynooth, M3 Parkway and Dundalk services have been deferred (serach 24th June for services after midnight)
After the concert at the Aviva Stadium, Sandymount and Grand Canal Dock DART stations will be closed. Passengers travelling home by DART should board at Lansdowne Road DART station.

Picture This are also playing a sold out gig to 35,000 close by at the RDS. Expect the Ballsbridge area to be extremely busy.

Just to say we parked at Booterstown, got it on the app for €3.50 day rate. It's €4.50 from the pay machine. Hopped on the dart, in no bother. On the way out they had it all set up well. We got on the second dart and out to Booterstown in 3 stops. They don't stop at Sandymount on concert days.

I'd definitely do this again. I live in Wicklow Town and we were home by 11:40pm. The concert finished at 10:30pm.

Next time you could also park at the massive Greystones car park; it's free and a surer bet to get a space. Glad you got sorted though :)

the dart towards town (last one to malahide) was jammers. however it really is the best public transport option.

id consider getting the dart the other way eg greystones etc as suggested.

Yeah I considered it but we definitely wouldn't have gotten home as quickly. Probably could have added an extra 20 - 25 mins to the journey.

As it turned out I sprained my ankle Saturday afternoon so I was glad I didn't have too much walking to do!
