Water in Skerries

    Hi,

I asked on Twitter but was told there's no notice of works taking place in Skerries.

Apparently we're heading for a heatwave over the next week - will Skerries be subjected to the same water restrictions as a few weeks ago, or has the reservoir filled sufficiently that we won't lose water?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I assume the last time when the water was turned off it wasn't planned though so there wouldn't have been a notice of works? Have measures been taken so that we won't lose water again?

I don't think you're understanding the questions being asked.
What is the current state of the reservoir, and does IW predict that it will have to cut off/reduce water during the coming heatwave? It's not a difficult question, we had no end of being told that you lot we're "monitoring" the water levels in the reservoir while the restrictions are in place, surely you can put some of that monitoring to use and tell us the current status of the reservoir and what the likely situation for the coming week(s) is.
Or will we just be fobbed off again and given no notice about anything wrong until the water is cut off like last time?

    Hi,

In relation to Skerries, Irish Water and Fingal County Council are monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis and will update the elected representatives directly and the community via the media, social media and through liaison with representatives from the community whom we have met recently.

We are warning the public that water restrictions will become unavoidable given the current trends as the demand levels for water in the Greater Dublin Area rose again overnight and our Drought Management Team is meeting daily and is monitoring water supplies and demand on the reservoir.

Any updates will be made available on our website.

    Thanks,
    Mairead
