Alternative Education Schools

Hi, we've a 9 year old (4th class next year) boy in our family who's not doing well in his current school due to behavioural issues stemming from losing his mother to cancer very young and bullying in school up until last year. He's happy enough at home but he's getting in a lot of trouble at school. We've gone down the CAMHS route but at this stage without a diagnosis of anything we're looking into him moving schools.

Is there any alternative education schools in the North Kildare/South Meath/Offaly area that people are aware of? I'm aware of the Kildare Steiner School but it's an hour away. He's currently in a small country Catholic school and there was a lot of issues with communion last year (atheist family but catholic background).

    Any advice?

Are you considering multi-denom but mainstream type primary or alternative to "national schools?"

There is a primary montessori school in Celbridge http://www.westonpm.com/.
Classes are small and there is a lot of hands on work.
