Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Mixing Suzuki and classical lessons

    Hi,

My 5 year old daughter has been taking Suzuki violin lessons for over a year now and is making good progress. She has expressed an interest in piano (her sister just completed grade 6) and I was wondering if anyone has experience of a student taking lessons in the Suzuki tradition on one instrument and a more classical approach on another instrument ?

My concern would be the immediate emphasis on reading music in the classical approach compared to the slower ear-based approach in Suzuki where reading music comes later.
