Woodworking equipment

    Hi folks,

I was looking up youtube videos of how to make a meditation stool. I have one, with a price sticker on it for €35, which seems to me like a pretty simple item; a couple of hinged bits of wood. On Amazon, they are often multiples of this, although some of them I see have wooden joints with no screws, or are made out of oak etc.

I came across videos like this:

I'm curious, do most hobbyists, or even people making small items as pieces of art or furniture, use these large pieces of equipment I'm seeing in the videos? Table saws, dust extractors, planers, etc. or are there plenty of people who just use non-powered hand tools and work (presumably) at a slower pace?

Non-smart answer that might seem like a smart answer:

If people have the equipment, they’ll use it. If they don’t, they won’t.
