I've seen this mentioned here a few times and I was wonder if any one has personal experience of it from the point of view of providing the service - either as a walker or as a boarder?

Where are you based? I signed up for it and there were only two people in my area. One only wanted to walk small dogs and the other only wanted to walk GSDs (mine is a GSD x Collie) so it wasn't worth paying to be able to message them. A lot of boarding kennels may offer this service.

I know it’s not directly answering your query but I have looked at the website and can say that as a user I would check for accredited canine behaviour & training & only at that point would I consider it as our dog is a rescue & has issues that would need to be managed.

He’s not as severe as he use to be, but still, I wouldn’t leave him with someone just b/c they liked dogs. The same would apply if he was a well trained & rounded dog.

I'm not seriously looking into setting this up as a sideline business - both myself and my OH work full time and I'd be reluctant to leave a dog I don't know a) alone all day and b) alone with my dog all day. It was more out of interest then that I started pottering through the site - particularly looking at the walker side of it - but I couldn't see any jobs. Which is what made me think - does anyone actually get paid to do this on here?

I was pottering around the idea months ago when we first got Mr C, he is our 2nd rescue dog as was our previous dog, but she was a 12 week puppy so didn’t have the same kind of start as Mr C. Anyway, after looking into it & talking to friends in the UK, we decided against it. Also I’m way to neurotic to feel comfortable with the idea.

Every day I see a guy who must be a dog walker as he has different dogs of all sizes, usually about 7 or 8, tethered to his waist, walking up Cork St, roughly the same time of the day.

TBH he ruined the idea for me as he doesn’t engage with the dogs & has his phone either in front of him or attached to his ear. Also I’d be pretty p*ssed if I had paid for my dog to be walked like that.

Also, I really enjoy walks with Mr C as we’ve overcome some seriously weird fear issues on our walks.
