Returning to an old job..

    Hi, new poster needing advice.

Left a job 3 years ago and after a few weeks started to regret leaving. Then worked in a different company then for the last couple of years. I'm now back at my first job and.....I'm thinking its a big mistake.

Since leaving this job (Job A) I always wanted to return to it. There were better benefits such as paid meal breaks and free food. Also the job was paid weekly. Also there was a reliable system for clocking in and out, no one could meddle with the amount of hours I was down for (this was happening a lot in the job I was just recently at - Job B). Overall, A is just a better company on paper. One of the reasons I left A was the amount of workload and unreasonable demands and pressure put on me (the harder I worked the less I was appreciated). Also an incompetent manager drove me to leave this job. I enjoyed the work in this job and didnt want to leave but felt I had to. Fast forward 3 years and I guessed things might have changed for the better. Wrong. I am in the same job with a new manager but in a differemt location. I started last Thursday and after the first day I realised I'm not going to be happy here! The same contradictory rubbish is still alive and kicking. Yes I feel stupid but I have already began job hunting and hopefully will get a new job and definitely put this employer in the past for good.

Has anyone ever gone back to an old employer only to have the words "the more things change the more they stay the same" ring through their head?
