Would anyone know what the waiting list is on the public system to have surgery for a hernia these days?

And is there anyone who went the private route(without insurance) ? What did it cost?

    Thanks

I was waiting 3 months in Cork on public without medical card. I only had to pay 75 for each of the first 3 nights. 225 in total. Lots of folks couldn't believe it.

    Thats a relief.
If the wait time was something similiar, i'd be very happy..
What other costs were involved may I ask?
I presume you went to a GP first and then got a referral to a consultant?

The GP was the usual price (50) and the hospital consultant was free.

Is this amount fully able to claim back from your health insurer?
I got a referral letter to see a specialist in Vincent's about 3 years ago but never followed up (I'm an idiot I know).
I still have the letter. Would I be able to rock up now and see him?
