sick greenfinches

I've posted something similar a few months back but I'm still finding sick or dead greenfinches in and around the feeders. I've sterilized the feeders routinely and I'm sure its not them that is the problem. Has anyone else noticed similar? I know greenfinches are prone to canker but all the other birds are fine. Any ideas?

Birdwatch Ireland have a good article on this. You need to be careful with bird baths as well as the feeders.

If you're still having problems you really need to remove all feeders and water baths. At this time of year adults are feeding the chicks, so the disease can spread quite easily from adults to chicks unfortunately.

Do any of your neighbours have feeders out, if they do it could be them causing it by not cleaning their feeders.

The standard procedure is to disinfect feeders and baths, stop feeding for at least a month and get near neighbours to do likewise.
