    Any ideas?

I was looking at the Pinnacle Arkose series, specifically the 3 and the Alfine 8 2018, anybody have experience with this?

Have a look on UK based singletrackworld MTB forum, there is a massive thread that the designer of this bike posts on, let me know if you can't find it and I'll PM you a link.
I have an Oreo Terra Gravel bike which is similar but slightly more road orientated. I wish I'd gone for something with a little more tyre clearance.

Those Pinnacle Arkose bikes look like good - pity there only available through Evans Cycles.

Yeah they're its in-house bikes so figure that's why.

Anybody else have any opinions on what is good on the market, in Adventure/Gravel bikes?

Don't get an alfine if you are joining a club, too much drag, jumps between gears too high and irregular and heavy for climbing.

PlanetX London Road is a good all rounder.

Loads of really good options i cycle with a group that actively seek out bad roads, tow paths and forestry tracks. They are on bikes like specialised diverge, Genesis cdf, Mason, Kinesis tripster or boardman cx. Depending on what the bike is used for the rest of the time

The new Boardman Adventure bikes in Halfords look like a great option.

Yeah, I was going to suggest looking at that too, but I always seem to be the one to suggest boardmans. Seems to match up ok to the Planet X or Ribble Options, with the advantage of getting a look at it first.

You'd get the planet x full monty for similar money with ultegra but mechanical rather than hydraulic discs. The ribble GCR looks nice too, but is a bit more.

I think you would need to be eyes wide open with them.

The last time I looked they had mavic 319 non tubeless wheels with qr release wheels.

Tubeless for an occasional off road bike is a must; the qr thing would just be a pain in time when looking for decent wheels. Life is too short for looking for adapters!

I have a Felt VR30 Road/gravel bike. Absolutely love it, 105 with hydraulic discs. It comes as standard with a 46/30 sub-compact chainset with an 11/32 cassette so it’s a great bike for hilly routes (road or gravel) and has 28mm tyres but will take much larger as it comes with 21mm (internal width) tubeless ready wheels.
