I'm looking at moving into an apartment in Henrietta Hall, Bolton Street, Dublin. Does anybody know anything about the apartment block or area? I know that it's near Capel street, the city center etc. which is a huge plus. I'm just wondering, is the area dodgy at all? The block seems to be typical Celtic Tiger era, so I'm wondering if there is anything I'm missing as regards the building, facilities, pyrite?

Dodgy at all? Yes. Dodgy to a tolerable level for that close to the CC at that price? probably.

You'll get a few junkies, few 'escorts' working locally pretty much par for the course though in D1,D2,D4,D7 and D8.

So in terms of dodginess it's just the same as most parts of Dublin?

As regards the centre aye. It would be Beiruit to your average suburbanite. It's in a more lively part of the centre in close proximity to the more lively end of Smithfield, near Parnell street and Dorset Street. I've never personally felt threatened but I have had a run in or two when I worked further up on Dorset street.

You're going to get some noise, junkies and hookers but it's tolerable. If you want a nicer area then Smithfield is a better bet but you pay for it. If you're willing to move further out then The Maltings, Viking Harbour and Christchurch would be a bit quieter.

Oddly enough you're right on top of where Barristers train and they're the fecking dodgiest of them all. :pac:
