Why is this even a thread? Why are people like that given a voice and a platform. You know that in true boards.ie fashion this will just turn into a left v right argument as usual. Who gives a ****..

Because women! Women are talking about things on the television and this simply will not stand!

That’s not enough info even for a half-arsed opinion. Were they saying that female dummies can’t get jobs? Or that anatomical differences in dummies have a demonstrable impact on safety findings as far as women are concerned.

How is she so sure the dummies are female? Maybe they are transgender. I demand an retraction and an apology. #transdummieshaverightstoo

Then why don't they volunteer to do some testing themselves?

She would be an ideal candidate.....

They are always looking for new dummies just like her.

    Ellen Reid would disagree.

Don't watch Sky news, but they could have a point. Crash test dummies have been almost exclusively built to represent the average younger man in a crash. Some dummies to represent women(and kids) have been used, but they're in the minority What research has been done has shown the average woman moves and is impacted differently in a crash. IIRC they're more likely to suffer soft tissue damage like whiplash. Being lighter in general their body also tends to accelerate more on impact. Being shorter on average they also tend to sit more closely to the steering wheel which can also influence what protections they might need and injuries they might sustain. So yeah more crash test dummies representative of half the population is hardly an ask.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

More reasons why women shouldn't drive.

If they are too female then some risks may be hidden.

    https://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/10/03/bulgarian_airbags/
A Bulgarian woman driver escaped relatively unscathed from a head-on pile-up with another vehicle when her 40DD breast implants absorbed most of the impact, Ananova reports.

Elena Marinova, 24, of Sofia, pranged her motor in the northern city of Ruse. Both cars were written off and the other driver seriously injured, local paper Standart reported.

A police expert explained: "[The implants] worked just like airbags - protecting the victim's ribs and vital organs from damage." He did, however, add: "They are not as safe as the real thing because they exploded, which airbags are not supposed to do."

"They are not as safe as the real thing because they exploded, which airbags are not supposed to do."

But air bags use explosives and ... wait, WHAT

I thought women got hit differently on impact so they do need to test female crash dummies
