    Hi guys

Just thought I'd give my experience of moviprep and colonoscopy earlier today for anyone panicking if they have one coming up .

I had a light breakfast before 9am yesterday and didn't eat anything until 3pm at which point i had some clear soup and two packets of gummy bears / wine gums ( no red or purple allowed )

Started the first dose at 5pm and got through the first litre in an hour with a little bit of difficulty but not as bad as expected .

It took about 2 hours to kick in and when it came it came 😠. I started drinking the second litre at 8 pm and similarly it took an hour to get through it as well...constant need to go to bathroom until about 10.30 pm at which point i went to bed and slept like a baby until getting up a 6am as had to be admitted at 8am . Again i went to the bathroom once this morning when i woke but that was the last time .

Was called to go for the colonoscopy at 9am , recieved some sedatiom and to be fair the doctor and nurses were excellent .

Hopefully this put some people's mind at ease if they are worrying about getting this done , this is my second the first was 12 years ago and was horrendous but moviprep is actually much better and makes the experience a lot easier.

Good luck to all getting this procedure done and if you want to know any more just ask .

I have also gone through this experience, and did not find it bad, but could eat for Ireland after Doctors finished with me, but the best part is the results going good, worth doing to keep a clear mind

Did you only restrict your diet on the day before? I've to get one done on the 14th and I'm reading all these things about restricting your diet for the whole week. That seems to be advised by most of the hospitals but it's seriously restrictive and would rule out 85% of my current diet :P (Guess I love my fibre!)

I was only told to restrict the day before. It wasn't a bad experience to be honest, you do need to stay VERY close to a bathroom :o But it was completely painless for me.
