    Hi all,
Looking for small bit of advice ,
I’ve been looking to buy a lake boat but there seems to be a big difference in the price between 17ft and 19ft boats,
I know 19ft is more popular and I’ve had a 19ft boat in the past,
Would it make much difference in performance on the lake?
Apart from length what’s the difference?
I’ve been looking at Burke boats, sheelin boats and darragh boats,
I would love to buy another larch boat but that’s another story!
    Thanks

Go for a lynch boat, beats all other lake boats.

It depends where you are going to fish 17 foot for a small lake but a 19 is better on big lakes.

I have a 17' Burke and I only fish local lakes in Longford/Cavan - Lough Gowna etc. I was advised by a friend to keep away from larger lakes like Lough Sheelin.

I used a 17ft boat on lough ree for years, as do many others.
    No problem with it.
