Where do you see the 20% off first purchase code / offer on your account

20% off applies to your first order, once you have registered an account and use the flexi option .Alternatively after registration at checkout step enter that code and you will get 20e off your total.

Remember littlewoods charges a eye-watering and whopping 39.9% interest on purchases bought on credit

Offers as in above posts suck you in to opening a credit account and charge their extortionate rate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,378 ✭✭✭✭jimmycrackcorm

I bought my tv using this. It's the only thing I've bought with them.

The problem is that with their flex option you will get charged 40 percent interest. So make sure to pay it off before the first month is up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 arthur_luhnev

It all depends from the total amount you spent. First, your credit depends from your financial situation ,because you have to provide them with your latest bill and prove of income. So they might only allow you to spend on credit 300e or more ,this is all means tested. Second your first 20% off you can spend on any item over 50 e,you don't have to go nuts on buying. Third ,this additional 20e off you can spend any time after registration ,at checkout step. Also you have an option of pay later, which means you do not pay anything for the six months, but you have to pay before six months over and you won't pay any interests.I tried my self already both options. If you manage your finances well, you will avoid all interests. Just pay monthly back a bit more than a min amount from the statement and do not spent all your credit at once.If you do spend all the credit and pay only min amount per month (10%) ,than you will get interests on. Buy a few items ,pay back in 1-2 months and you will be fine.

Was gonna do this to buy a Nintendo switch but looks like it might exclude games consoles?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 arthur_luhnev

    The do have Nintendo,various bundles.

Yes but on the ad for the 20% off it states it excludes "electronic gaming" not sure if that applies to consoles or not but I'm assuming!

I'll try it tomorrow anyway and let people know unless someone has already tried for something similar?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 arthur_luhnev

Any way it is free to put into a basket and check at a checkout to see if that 20% off will be applied or not.Not sure if you can use multiple discounts at once, like 20% off and 20e off code. But the code is there above in this chat.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 648 ✭✭✭SeanHarty

    Doesn't apply to consoles

That's what I did. As it was more than 400 I added the difference in funds before I made the purchase. I then paid the 400 credit off shortly after.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 arthur_luhnev

You can get 20% of the TV if that type of item is eligible for that discount, because for some items items that discount cannot be applied, usually you will see at checkout if you can use that 20% off for that item or not.To get 400 credit limit, you would need to send them some documents, they normally tell you what they need,i.e things like utility bill, bank statement .This process doesn't take long.If you need apart 20% off after registration 20e off, send me your email,i will send you the code to use.

If no one use it yet, than it is still valid for 20e off for the order over 50 e: code :3QJGL

I could not bring myself to write about the issues, incompetence, over charging, delivery problems, useless customer service staff, terrible returns policy and a hundred other things I’ve encountered with Littlewoodd. No matter what the price they are not worth the time and trouble of dealing with them. I’m amazed they are still in business with how they operate.

So many stories out there worth reading before buying

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,053 ✭✭✭Eggs For Dinner

Could not agree more. To cut a long story short, I ordered an item and paid for it by card. No movement for ages, then they cancelled the payment back in to my account. However, the item arrived safely. I rang to pay them but they insisted "that can't happen". Took a number of callbacks for them to take payment again. Clueless

What really bugs me about this crowed is. Turn any uk tv station and their advertising interest free on all items, over here it's 39% interest. They just fleece the Irish people

Oh it's not just littlewoods.. Have you ever looked at car deals in the UK versus Ireland? Probably part down to population size in the UK..

I'm not sure what service you guys received, but I've been using Littlewoods for over 3 years now and I have never purchased anything off them at full price, I always wait for a 15% or 20% discount code, and most recently there has been a couple of 25% codes going around. I also get offered Buy Now Pay Later on purchases over €150.00 with no interest for 6 months.

I have returned multiple items over the past 3 years and I was always credited back very quickly. I spoke to customer service on the phone a couple of times too. One time there was an item missing and they dispatched it the same day and I had it within 48 hours.

Fastway deliver for them and once again I can't fault Fastway, I have lived in two different towns during this time, different drivers etc and they are always very accommodating with deliveries if I'm not at home etc.

I'm not saying nobody has bad experiences with them, but I think it's only fair to put out a good story as well to show people that it's not all bad.

If people don't like the high interest rates, just don't use them or else wait for discount codes and try pay off the balance as soon as you can and always use the Buy Now Pay Later option when purchasing items over €150.00 which gives you 6 months interest free.

How would I got about getting 20% off a first purchase of a TV, looking at an expensive one but looking to get the discount and to pay it off almost straight away, is that possible?

Do I need to sign up for credit with them instead of using my credit card which has a sufficient credit card limit on it already?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 arthur_luhnev

You just sign up and get 20% off, which is printed on their website. Select an item and apply 20% off at the checkout .If the item is eligible for the discount it will be applied.

Thanks, I had tried that the other day but it didn't work, I just saw other people saying the got the discount on a TV so was wondering if I was doing something wrong.

I signed up as normal, selected credit card for purchase and it gave error

My problem was not interest rates. I paid in full, they messed up the transaction and then insisted "that can't happen" If their systems are so inept with my debit card, I won't shop with them.

adding item to basket and using code doesnt work.

You need to sign up for a credit account, get approved,(i got 400 credit) and then add item to basket. You then will get the discount code to work and can opt to pay in full or use credit. partially if over 400.
i paid in full so credit is still there and i got 20% off
