    Hi

Looking at buying a house. House am interest in is in Golden Ridge, Rush, Co Dublin.

    It's green certed for pyrite

    1. Would it be safe to buy and live in?
    2. In years to come, will the repairs still last ?
    3. Do insurance companies ensure green certed pyrite properties ?

    Thanks
    Lewy

If the house was remediated for pyrite, a green cert is given when the old deleterious (pyrite) material is removed from underneath the house and replaced with “clean stone” a stone material that has been chemically tested to ensure it is suitable.

In this case there is no worry about if the “repair will hold” as the cause of the problem has been entirely removed.

As per insurance companies I think you’d be best ringing for a quote to confirm.
