Hi all. My friend has a level 7 science degree from UCD. He wants to do the PME but the requirement is a level 8. Has anybody had any experience with getting in with a level 7 or upgrading to a level 8?

They will take you in for the PME no problem(the colleges are desperate for the money); however, your friend will need to see whether they have enough credits from their primary degree as teaching council are very pedantic over this.

I don't think any college will accept level 7 for entry to the PME. Level 8 is the requirement. The TC will definitely not accept it for primary or post primary registration.

They might be able to register with the TC under FE though depending on the subject area.
