If I cancel my Sky package, would I lose my Eirsport package too?
I currently have a sky package (contract now lapsed) and I get the Eir Sports through my Sky box (broadband with Eir) but I am worried if I cancel my subscripotion to Sky I will also lose the Eir Sport package and the Freesat channels (BBC1, 2, Etc etc)

No, you'll be fine. Eir Sport is tied to your viewing card which you'll keep. You don't need an active Sky sub.

If he cancels the sky plus his box will then just be a generic satellite fta box, no? No epg or series link and channels a bit higher I think? No saorview channels?

EPG will work, there is no recording at all so no series link as a result.
