What's the typical waiting time to get a deposit back from renting a room? I'll have moved out two weeks tomorrow and the landlord is uncontactable. Considering going to the RTB by the end of the week if contact and deposit isn't returned.

Were you a tenant or licensee? If only renting a room you most likely have no recourse to RTB and will have to use small claims court. Or else pay a visit to the landlord (if you lived with them you know where they live no?)

People should never leave licensee situations without the deposit in hand after return of keys.

+1 on the above, return of deposit would be at the time of leaving minus a small amount for any outstanding bills.
