I am due to start a new job on Friday. I recently left my previous job and they have informed me they wont be able to give me my P45 until the end of this month after the final payroll is done.

My new job have asked me to bring PPS number, passport etc and my P45 with me on my first day. But I wont be getting this until the end of this month.

Will this cause a problem with starting new employment because I don't have my P45 yet?

    Thanks for any replies

No there will be no problems with not having the P45 yet. The new company will be able to work with your PPS number and soon as you do have the P45 you can bring it in to them. The worst is you might be on emergency tax for a month but ET is not too punative for the first month and any extra tax taken will be refunded to you. Alternatively, you can also contact Revenue yourself and notify Revenue of your new employer - all you will need is the new employer's Company Registration Number.

If you haven't already done you, you should set yourself up with an online account in Revenue where you will be able to handle your tax affairs much easier in the future. Also, be sure to request a balancing statement P21 at the end of 2018 when you get your P60, as often when you change jobs mid year there can be small discrepancies with allowances.
