I have the following question on a job application form for a public sector job:

Demonstrate your understanding and experience of the IT services / products market in both jurisdictions of Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland

Any suggestions on what information is being sought - I would have thought that the IT services/ products market doesn't vary much between North & South.

Need a little more context. What's the job spec, what level of experience is expected, what's the organisation and why do they have a presence in both jurisdictions?

Its a senior IT position with a cross border body. Application form notes give no further info.

Senior, as is senior level developer, manager .... The answer to the question would really depend on the nature of the role.

    STAR

Situation - The IT system named X that I have used in my current job is used in both Ireland and the North
Task - I had to implement a new IT service in under 6 months and provide training to junior staff
Action - Set up regular training for staff, managed roll out of new software, etc.
Result - Successfully implemented a cross border IT service that was on time and on budget.

Kind of like the above. This is typically how most public sector jobs expect the answers to be.
Except obviously don't include the STAR words
