Are builders holidays still a thing?

Do builders and tradesmen still traditionally take holidays on the first two weeks in August?

I was planning on taking some time off around then to get some work done but perhaps I should pick a different week?

The CIF holidays are 20th July to 7th August this year... small independant builders won't be tied by this.

During the quieter years in the building trade they weren't really observed. But I've been informed that a good number of larger sites will be closed for the two weeks this year.

That said, plenty of smaller contractors will still be likely to be working.
