    What would be the best places in Dublin city centre to beg and how much per day could be potentially earned from it? Has anyone any first hand experience about it, any information would be appreciated

    Whatever you do, don't beg at an ATM. Most people using them have no change and they're hardly going to hand you a note.

    Also, make sure you do that sarcastic 'have a lovely day then, thanks very much!' to passers by who give you nothing.

    I regularly see homeless people fight each other for begging spots / robbing each other. You have to remember that a lot of them are packing HIV/ HEP C and syringes in the pocket.

    Good Luck on what is the scummiest thing I've heard in a damn long time.

    Obviously for me its different, i will wear torn up clothes that are still clean, sit on a clean cardboard box, spend 3 hours begging, take a break then another 3 hours, then head home, have a shower, get dressed up and head out for dinner and drinks with my earnings for the day

    I heard a super intendent on Sean o rourke recently saying the average is 200-250 a day. I thought that you get put in front of a judge if you keep on doing it but I see the same traveller one hassling the tourists on the bridge in Stephens green every weekend.

    Who carries loose change these days with contactless and other cards?

    I notice the bucket people on the street and the supermarket packing crowd have dissipated.

    My advice to anyone thinking of begging is to get a card reader toot sweet.
