Roughly how much does a root canal cost?

I think my dentist told me something like 250 Euro, would this be about the cost of it?

    It depends on which tooth.

Looking at the price list of one of the cheapest Dental practices I know:
    - front tooth 350
    - pre molar - 450
    - molar - 600

You can claim back 20% tax relief on the above.

Can you claim back with private health insurance for a crown?

The missus got one done in Ballyowen for €400 last year. They carried it out over two separate appointments - 200€ per visit

You may be able to claim back some of the cost under medical insurance, if it’s covered under your policy

You’d then be able to claim back 20% of the remaining cost from Revenue if you’re a PAYE worker

Depends on your policy. I’d say check your table of benefits or contact your insurer.

Not all root canals are equal. A good one is worth paying extra for and a bad one is not worth a penny. Pick the person doing the job not the price.

Got my root canal done today at dentist - one hour's dental work.

Have to go back in a few weeks time to get a 'crown' done.

How much will it be roughly with the 'crown' included??

I am sure your dentist quoted you for the work before starting it? If not your in for a surprise. Ring the clinic and find out.
