Are there any legal IPTV sources in Ireland that I can avail of? Currently in an apartment with no Virgin and Sky :/

vodafone tv is a legal iptv service and eir have one too

I think I'd need broadband supplied by either one of those, which is something I'd rather not have to do. I've used both services as well and they're pretty bad. Menus are choppy and the picture quality is fairly poor.

I'd rather something I can run off my own box or VLC, thats also legit.

I have all those services apart from NowTv, which I'd rather avoid. I have Sky Go with a full subscription but the live channel choices are poor. but I'm interested in IPTV. Live channels with VoD ect.

You've rejected all the options I'm afraid. There are no other legal services. You'll get players for the domestic channels but the vast majority of 'normal' TV channels go through another provider.

Now whether something like Dave cares if you're watching an illegal stream or not given you'll get the ads who knows but AFAIK it's technically illegal.

Once you have NowTV for HBO, Netflix and Amazon, why would you want the other ****e?

I love the online services like Netflix etc but there's something nice about the brain numbing flicking of channels that I used to get from having Sky via dish. If I could get the dish, I'd have Sky in a flash. They're provided a dishless service soon but that could be a while. Thanks for the recommendations.

I already have Sky Go with a full sub, so it's identical.

NowTV has limited live TV like SkyGo and live TV is what I'm after.

It's not really. It's VoD in the main and better quality than SkyGo. You can also buy more flexible passes for Sports if that floats your boat.

The brain numbing flicking channels is exactly why we dumped all the traditional pay tv services.

I had enough evidence from that site that I needed:

    - Refusal to provide channel lists except to existing subscribers
    - Offering of movies, recent TV series and sports
    - “6,500” channels - no legal provider provides that many.
    - Ban on trials at weekends and major sporting events - indicates that they expect people to sign up for that reason.
    - Accepting payment in bitcoin- seriously?

I have enough evidence I need. If you continue to question this on thread you will be banned for 48 hours. If I see any more promotion any illegitimate providers you will be banned permanently without further warning

Do not reply to this post on thread - goes for everyone..

For me it's a question of getting the Irish channels - RTEs, TG4, 3, etc. and getting the BBC channels. I like to watch these live, not on catch up.

I've been using Aertv for this, but their service has stopped working for me and no response from tech support, so if anyone knows of a legal way to watch these channels (I have Now TV, Netflix, and Amazon Prime).

Outside of Saorview and frresat, it would be a ball ache setting up players for each of those

Just looking at Saoirview - they are now offering an internet-based systems... Maybe that will work.

Not sure about the legality, but ibox.ie might do what you want.
I know nothing about them and have not used their service, so 'buyer beware'.
