Thought it might be useful to compare Forecasts and their accuracy as they are very relevant to this forum.
Personally I use YR weather one and Met Eireann.
Have to say I preferred the old version of the Met Eireann site....really liked how you could see rainfall patterns developing on it.The new version is far less detailed and looks like something put together in the 1980’s:(

Generally find the YR site quite accurate and like that you can isolate it to an small location to see the forecast there.
    Anyone find other sites superior?

    https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/map/precipitation/united-kingdom

Good for wind also if you're looking for a spraying window

YR is quite good but accuracy seems to drift four or five days out.
I use Windfinder App which seems to be more accurate.

I find xc weather very good, no app just google it and type in location. Shows 7 days if I remember correctly.

    Read MTs forecast most days.

    Apps on my phone.

    Windy
    Weather Radar
    XC
    YR

Find Weather Radar good and it has a nice radar section where you can see the current situation and roll it forward. Displays lightening strikes.

On lightening here’s a good site for storms.

MT Cranium's forecast arrives in my email early each morning....
(when in MT Craniums forecast Thread under the Thread Tools option on the top just select the Follow this Thread option & you will get an email every time he/someone posts on the thread)

OH listens to the 7.55 Radio 1 forecast...

Keep an eye on Accuweather for the local area forecast...

Only ever tune in to the weather forecast 3 days leading up to silage. After that all weather apps (met.ie and accuweather) deleted off phone. It can do what it likes then, and it usually does!! A quick look at the sky sorts most things after that.

Agree with you there - it's weather forecasting dumbed down for the masses. I believe they are supposed to be adding back 'Atlantic Charts' but as mentioned you can still look up the old site format.

How do you look up the old format?

    Metcheck I find pretty good

YR I have to say is largely rubbish, it changes ...er... like the weather, seems to be reactive rather than predictive. weather-forecast.com generally far more accurate for predicting rainfall I find. Really met.ie is the best, it draws info from the best sources possible and is dedicated to Ireland rather than seeing it as an adjunct.

Jean Byrne could brighten up the worst weather forecast.
