    Hi,

Wondering can someone advise please -
    I live in Dublin.
I need to get something sorted by Revenue so I would prefer to go into their office than phone and the issues I need to sort cant be sorted on their website online.

So my question is Can I go to any of the revenue offices in Dublin ? and do I need to make an
appointment or can you just walk in and still take a ticket like in the past ?

    Many thanks

    Thanks Dire straits,

But do you know is that the only office you can just walk in and take a ticket ?
Like could I go into the Tallaght office near me and take a ticket ? Are they all walk in and take a ticket as I see on their site it says make appointment.

    Thanks

I don't think there are any walk in offices anymore, found this out recently. My Dad had to go to his district office (you can find that out online which district you are in) thought it was the same as always, walked in and was stopped at the door and told to go home and make an appointment. The guy he met said that Revenue were doing away with all walk in offices nationwide, would be appointment only service!

Yes this is what I was thinking as I went to their webite and put in my pps and it advised me my "local" office is Tallaght and to call to make an appointment.
I dont know if this is a new thing as my wife advised me she just went into to the one in O'Connel street not to long ago and took a ticket and got sorted.
So thats why Im wondering does anyone know for sure if you can just rock up to any office or are some/any of them ticket type system and some appointment or all appointment and have to go to your "local" one on the website ?

My Dad is in Limerick and there's no walk in office there anymore, happened about a year ago I think they told him! Maybe O'Connell street in Dublin will be the only walk in office in the country then? I do know that my Dad was told he had to go to his district office with his query anyway. You could end up wasting your time going all the way into town just to get told you've to go to Tallaght office! Nightmare!

Yea so true, I dont fancy a trip all the way to into town only to be told go out to Tallaght.
Thats why I'm hoping someone here might know for sure or have dealt with them recently as I believe its hard to get through on the phone to even ask.

[quote="Are you certain that you need to call in? I've found them to be pretty good at sort stuff out by phone, even if it takes a while to get through to a human.

O'Connell Street is the only public office you can go into without an appointment, there is no public office in Tallaght it was closed a few years ago, although the Revenue sign is still there that part of the office is permanently shut and most of the Revenue part of the building is used by the Wicklow District now. If you want to go into an office other than O'Connell Street you need to have an appointment first.
