International taxation or double Irish taxation

    Hi,

    Hoping someone can help here.

    I currently live and work in Ireland.

    I've been offered an online job in my off peak hours for a company based in germany.

    How does that work tax wise?

    I've checked online and can't really find a specific answer

    Do I pay higher tax in Ireland or do I pay tax in Germany?

    Or are there other things to factor in?

    I haven't accepted or asked them yet, thought I would check here first

    NO

    How does that work tax wise?

    You are taxed in ireland on your payroll in the normal way.

    If you are on the payroll in Germany they will deduct German taxes.

    You are supposed to declare that here through filing a Form 11 and doing an effective rate calculation to avoid double taxation.

    So you pay Irish tax on this additional income minus German taxes paid. If the German taxes paid are higher than the Irish income tax you dont pay any Irish tax.
