As most people are here, I'm mostly digital these days. I do however keep a few film cameras on hand as I can't stand the thought of being parted from them.

    For 35mm there's this tank:

With the 50mm prime on, its not only a weapon of self defense but has a wonderful hefty presence that feels great in the hands.

For my 120mm days there is the Bronica ETRSi:

To quote Obi Wan, "A more elegant weapon for a more civilized age"

Lastly, the newest member of the Family, relatively speaking is this little oddity, the Polaroid SX-70:

The cost of film for this is horrendous, but there is something so special about instant photography to me, so I keep buying it. I think I'd still like to add an F100 or F4/F5 to the collection and maybe a Canon AE-1 or an Olympus OM 20 as I'm drawn to their aesthetics.

So, everyone, who out there is still shooting film and what are you shooting with?

OM20? wash your mouth out with soap. OM1 or OM2, accept nothing less.

I picked up a Nikon F5 a few years ago. I haven't shot anything this year though - maybe this weekend?

I have a Nikon FE but haven't used it in over a year. Must pick it up again!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay? They seem to go for a premium these days.

    ah jeez

Looking over the last couple of months, ignoring my sellout concession D300 I bought recently, I've shot with ...

    Bronica SQAi (6x6)

    8x10 w/ paper neg
    42493001072_6f52b648c3.jpg

    Fujica g690 (6x9)

bowdlerised Instax with Mamiya TLR lens stuck on the front

    Agfa Isola (crappy 6x6)

Mamiya 6 (6x6, older folder version)

    Nikon AF600

Komaflex S, with 35mm spooled in

Contax 167mt with rather delicious CZ Planar
    38831435600_895e06feb7.jpg

    I ... may have a problem.

Incidentally, I'd go for the F100 over the F5 any day, particularly with a set of lithiums. I had both years ago, sold the F5 eventually because I never used it. The F100 was my go-to for quite a while, replacing the F4 I shot with for a good bit. When I want to go small and light I have a couple of nice FE-2s

I still have two PENTAX SFXn's. Workhorses from my wedding photography days, must have literally tens of thousands of actuations.

Both still working 100%, never been in for servicing, and they get dragged out for a couple of rolls every now and again.

That Mamiya 6 looks like she'd be fun to use. Not subtle though!

Mamiya Six is a wee little yoke. Folder as well, so it fits into a jacket pocket, or large cargo pant pocket.

The Fujica on the other hand ...

Mamiya C330, Russian Zenit, Zorki 4 and a Nikon F100. Dont get to shoot much film lately since the darkroom got dismantled.

Last two films I shot were Fomapan 100 shot with a Fed 4b and Fuji Superia 200 shot with Praktica MTL50. I also have a Zorki 4, Zenit 11, Olympus Trip 35 and my very first SLR I had in the mid 1970's , a Praktica Super TL which I rediscovered in the attic a few years ago. I gave it a quick clean and it worked no problem (except the light meter), 25 years after it was last used.

Never heard for the Zorki 4 before and there's two mentioned in succession. Beautiful little cameras, what's the Jupiter glass like?

Pretty sharp. Jupiter 8 is the nicest. The stock Industar isn't as sharp and not as wide.

U can get them on eBay cheap enough.

My sister has one of them. Sparsely used but gets some interesting shots. I prefer when Lomo do this kind of experiment rather than the €600 reconstruction lenses they seem to be favoring now.

Lot's of interesting cameras here to read up on. Anyone used a Olympus Trip 35? Have an option on one for €25, cheap as it hasn't had a roll of film through it in a year.

Go for it - good price for a trip 35 - nice little camera, lost one a few years ago and have been keeping an eye out for one at a good price for a while!

I've somehow accumulated a small collection,

A Canon F-1 (Original). With three good original FD lenses. It's had all it's seals replaced, a repair done to the winding sprocket and basically been cleaned up since being found in a shed covered in BBQ grease. It could do with a professional service but otherwise is a solid thing. A second one acts as a source of parts, but wouldn't take much to get working.
    tAHXZ26l.jpg

A Canon T70 - because it was €15 on ebay and I couldn't say no. It was a backup for the above in case it died so I could use the excellent lenses.

A Pentax Spotmatic SP - from a little shop in Akihabara. Both a holiday souvenir, and creator of souvenirs.

A Minolta Hi-Matic E that needs a cleaning. Fungus somehow got it. The shop I bought it from became the reception office at a Trump Hotel not too long ago.

And a Nikon F55 that was bought by someone in the house, at some stage as 'Ooh, a big camera is cheap now' and forgotten about. It's basically new.
