Wiring House

I'm at the final stages of wiring a house in Dublin.

I want to remove any cables from fascia of house - I've placed a sevice box (ETU) at side of house. And virgin have been helpful enough and will run their main cable underground and feed me from it in an AJ.

JUst a question on what cable runs from outside my house to the various tv / data locations in the house.

Also to future proof - should I run any other types of cables to tv units - fibre optic etc ?

    I will have a 4 K tv.

I will be plastering this wall in the next few weeks.

So I guess the question is - how do you future prrof your house on data and tv side prior to boxing everything up ?

    Thanks ?

Dedicate a comms space somewhere, run CAT6 from your ETU to there and from there to everywhere else in the house. The network will support 10Gb but 10Gb NICS/switches are expensive now so you can buy them in 2020.

If you use Virgin TV then you'll need to run Coax to each TV point and up to a splitter somewhere. This will eventually be totally useless as cable TV is heading towards retirement but for the moment its the only real way to go (slingboxes etc are hassle for non nerds).
