Online radio and Facebook Live

After being an avid listener to FM radio for years and being almost against the idea of online radio, I started listening to more online radio a few months ago and now hardly bother with the FM bar tuning into the odd pirate or doing the occasional bandscan for pirates. However, it seems online radio is changing again. Although most stations have their own dedicated online streams, it seems a lot of snall broadcasters are also using Facebook Live to videostream some or all of their output. In fact, one station in particular, Rough Tempo, appear to have abandomed their audiostream altogether and now only stream via Facebook Live.
Although I rather prefer an audiostream when listening to radio, it’s understandable that stations should take this route, given that it doesn’t cost anything to broadcast on Facebook Live. Given that and the fact that it’s so easy to do, is this the way internet radio is going to go? I think it’s fairly obvious that DAB will never be the main medium for listening to radio in Ireland, but by the time FM dies off, will all online radio streaming (by small broadcasters at least) be done on Facebook Live and similar sites?

Don't think they are supposed to be broadcasting via facebook live. I saw a guy from midlands 103 pop up on my Facebook yesterday evening who had been live streaming the show via Facebook and he had to put a stop to it due to licensing restrictions

They might be stricter on stations like that because Midlands103 which have an FM licence would be more likely to get stopped than a small online broadcaster.

What about listen2myradio...Is that free to stream on,using free or purchased software, instead of using facebook?. Some very good free broadcasting software around

there are plenty of free and low-cost streaming softwares available, Listen2MyRadio is quite tacky as far as streaming softwares go
