Transfer to another Local Authority Office

    Hi

    I work in a Local authority County Council office in Leinster and wondering is it possible to get a transfer to another county council office in Munster doing the same clerical officer role?

    My Fiancée is from Munster and we would like to buy a house down there eventually.

    I remember reading in the past you could direct swap with someone who wanted to move the other way.

    But is it possible now just to put in a transfer to move without waiting for a swap?

    Wanted to ask here before I contact HR.

    Hi conor05,

    It's been some time since you posted your query, but as I am in the same position as you and hoping to transfer, I wondered if you wouldn't mind me inquiring as to if you managed to get a transfer? If so, was it a straightforward process? Was a swap necessary or could you transfer regardless of someone wanting your job.

    Our positions are so similar as my fiancé is from Munster, also, and we want to move so as to be near family.

    Any information greatly appreciated.
