    Hi Guys,

Have Sony Android TV, when I attempt to update some apps the 'Install' button is grayed out...cant click on it, what am I doing wrong...

    Example:-

APK file downloaded in ES File Explorer, click install in properties, select package installer....

then, window opens with 'do you want to install update, no new permissions requires' and cancel or install appears at bottom of window.....just here the install is grayed out.

I have un-ticked unknown sources etc in security...

Any advice helpful, I have sufficient storage!

    Thanks in advance! :)

Android TV system apps are self updating controlled by Sony

Not sure I follow you, apps I am having difficulty with are the ones I side-loaded, specifically Eir Sports (I am legitimate subscriber) and Mobdro, both apk d/l through ES and then side-loaded.

Hope I am making sense here...

These are not system apps, I thought you were referring to apps that ship with the TV. Have you tried uninstalling the apps completely and then side load the new version

Not all apps are compatible and work with Android TV.

Mobdro has a TV version, and i was able to update it just now without a problem (on a Shield).
Eir Sport doesn't have a TV version that I know of.
