Local build only planning requirements

Where would I go about getting info on the planning requirements for North Wexford?

I am looking at a property, had a survey done and it basically needs to be knocked and a rebuilt however I want to check that as I am not from the area I am unsure if I will be able to that.

Cheers, I am looking at North wexford in the Ballymoney area but cannot seem to find it.

Basically wondering as a non resident, of Ireland and Wexford, can I build on land there. There is an existing dwelling / dilapidated house.

Eu ruled that stuff illegal but it has never been tested in Irish law.

Nice name! So does that mean an application by me won't get rejected as I am not form the area? Heard of an ex Cork hurler having a problem getting permission as he was from approx 10km down the road due to local only policy.

As I said, someone just needs the balls to push it to the supreme court and it'll fall on locals only grounds, but that takes time and money

Point taken. Hence I would like to find out if such a policy exists in that area?

I'd go straight to the source, head into the planning department in County Hall in Wexford and enquire as to the situation with the planner on duty.

Contacted them and they sent me a link which states that it is local use only. So even thought the house we are looking at needs allot of work and would be best to be knocked down we would have to live in it for five years.

Now does that mean full time? Can we use it as a holiday home? Can we extend it?

I know I can call again to ask but I don't want to scupper any future applications.
