Argentina / Patagonia in November

I'm planning on travelling alone to South America in November for roughly 2-3 weeks. I'd like to see Buenos Aires so I think I'll fly in there.

I'd also like to see Patagonia. Has anyone done this trip? I've read El Calafate is a good place. I see flights there are around £300. Is that trip too much of a stretch? Would it be too cold?

Is there another itinerary I could do is BA is my base?

Spent two weeks in Patagonia in November a few years ago. Flew to El Calafate and then on to Torres Del Paine National Park, where I did the W trek for a week. Then on to Puerto Natales to see the Perito Moreno Glacier. I wish I had gone hiking in El Chalten to hike but did not have time. It's a vast place so it can take time to explore.

November in El Clafate is the last month of Spring so you'll be fine. I was there in early September many moons ago and there was a fair bit of snow on the ground in places but was still able to get hiking around El Chalten.
I only had a few days there and seriously regretted not having longer. Magical, beautiful place

I've been in December and it was perfect hiking weather, the entire country is amazing but if you want to do some hiking it will take you 2 weeks at least. You could just try join a trip like a G adventures or Intrepid one, they will have great hiking and guides in that limited time. Distances in Patagonia are vast and it is expensive. However, it is also amazing!

Btw, if you are going bring a proper cold weather sleeping bag if you plan to camp. I froze my nuts off in Torres Del Paine for a week after using my own summer sleeping bag. The weather is incredibly volatile even at that time of the year.
