Moving front door out

Hi all, I have a front door and then a porch that is flush with the house, I would like to move the front door out to the porch so we have a bigger hall and only one door. Can anyone give a ballpark figure of how much this would cost or if it is a big job
I’ve added an image to show, the brown door is the one I want to get rid of and then put a composite door on the outside

    Link is not working.
Counter productive idea from a security and energy conservation perspective

Did you ever go ahead with this plan? I am currently considering a similar idea myself.

Did anyone do this as looking at doing it ourselves to get more space in the hallway

It's usually not a huge job. We got all of the front windows done at the same time, but IIRC the cost of the door itself was about €1,500. In our case there was a step down from the hallway into the porch, so that price included pouring a small concerete slab to bring the floor of the porch up to match the hall.

An earlier poster suggests there's an energy conservation issue and they're right. In our case the guys who poured the slab never put a vapour barrier between the old concrete (which was effectively outside) and the new slab. So we later had to get this sealed. We also had exposed blockwork and utility boxes that needed to be insulated/sealed. It's fine now, but when there's an wind blowing directly aganist the front of the house, it's noticeably chillier.
