Hi, I'm interested in buying some long dated puts in a specific company (just realised that sounds like I'm insider trading, but it's nothing like that :pac: )

    What's the best option?

I just want to buy a small position. I know IB is meant to be best but they require a large deposit.

Unless you are very experienced in these matters, be very careful about options.

It is amazing how quickly the time runs out, thus diminishing the value of the contract

Thanks. Yes I understand the risks.

Does no on one on the forum trade options? Thought there'd be some recommendations?

I spent some time on options about 10 years ago, Made and lost a few bob,

As already mentioned they need to be watched daily because of the effect of lapse of time.

TD ameritrade. No data or inactivity fees, no minimum deposit requirement. They are not cheap compared to IB, bet perfect for buy and hold positions.
