Ticket to-fro Connolly, but not start/end station?

I'm going to be booking a return train ticket from Connolly to the west, but will get the dart to Connolly using my leap card.

If I book the ticket online leaving from Connolly, do I need to exit at Connolly when I arrive on the Dart in order to print the ticket, or is it electronic and my phone is sufficient?

Similarly when I come back and I arrive at Connolly, do I need to leave and re-enter in order to scan my leap card before getting on the connecting Dart?

I think you'll need to exit the arrival area in Connolly, go through the leap card validator & then collect your ticket from one of the ticket machines (you should get a collection code when booking) & go back through with your ticket. Similar on the way back, you'll have to exit with your train ticket then tap back through with your leap card

You can print your ticket at virtually any train station in the country, so to save hassle, print it at the DART station you depart from.

Where are you boarding?

You will need to tag off at Connolly and re enter the station with the long distance ticket

nah you see I need to tag off when I arrive at Connolly from first dart station.

Anyway I guess I just need to exit @ Connolly, print ticket and re-enter.

The weird thing would be arriving back at Connolly. My connecting Dart train would be right beside the train arriving into Connolly, yet in order to board it I have to go all the way out of the gates and tag on, then walk all the way back to my Dart train
