How late are nightclubs allowed to stay open tonight?

It's Thursday night, the bar / nightclub across from where I live is pumping out loud music. Normally they don't start until later but tonight they started much earlier.

Is it because they have to finish early on weekdays or could they continue this all night? It's driving me crazy, I need the windows open because of the heat but I can't leave them open because of the noise. There are kids here too, it's a school night isn't it?

    Is this legal??

Go over and tell them to keep it down.

Only works if you're in your nighty and slippers (extra bonus is if you have rollers in).

If that doesn't work, then tell them you know their mothers.

You'll have them wrapped around your little finger in no time! :pac:

The question I'm asking is whether or not it is legal.

    Don't live near a nightclub.

    Problem solved.

If they have a license, it's legal.

There may be a planning issue with the amount of noisr spilling into tje street. But that would make them non-compliant, not illegal.

    Stupid answer.

What you want to do is blast the DJ with piss OP.

What licence do you need to do this on a Thursday night?

The noise is not just spilling into the street, I live a considerable distance away but it's really bad. Honestly, it's getting me down and while I know you are not doing it, the piss taking comments aren't helping.

I explored the planning issue before, there were no conditions on the licence. None.

The only thing I can do is take them to court but there are many reasons why I don't want to do that.

They are preventing me from enjoying my home. That is illegal.

It's your mindset that is preventing you enjoying your home.

No, it's the noise. I can hear it, you can't.

Are you not getting simply that?

After reading a few posts in this thread I'm convinced it's your mindset.

Live a little - take that rod out of your backside and let the good people enjoy their music.

Hi Petyr, Please know that you do not have to deal with this on your own. We encourage people experiencing difficulties to talk to someone they trust and, if appropriate, to go to their GP. If you need help urgently and outside of GP hours, please go to your nearest A&E department. Here at Boards.ie our moderators are not trained to support people experiencing difficulties. There are other organisations better positioned to provide specialised support. These organisations are listed below.
