Decent Budget Smartphone

In the market for a new smartphone, prepay. I've never spent more than €200 on a phone as I've always thought it was madness and I have no intention of putting an end to that policy any time soon.

I've checked out a good few on GSMArena and other sites to see what the reviews were like, and they've all been hit or miss. Anyone recommend one that kinda stands out from the crowd or is a decent phone for the money, sub €200? Brand doesn't matter, be it Samsung, Huawei, Nokia, etc. I've no loyalty to phone manufacturers. I'm with 3 btw. I was tempted to get the reincarnated 3310, and even though I don't use WhatsApp and other social media, I still liking having access to other apps and decent internet. It comes in handy when you need it. As far as functionality goes, as long as it has a half decent camera I'm happy. Cheers.

G5S plus is decent. Should be available within budget on likes of Amazon.it

Xiaomi Mi A1, regular updates like a pixel phone.

I always buy 2nd hand. You get decent spec phone if you are prepared to accept one with a few scuffs and scratches etc.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I just happened upon by chance the latest reincarnation by Nokia, the 8810 4G. It's not a smartphone but it does have apps, bluetooth, 4G obviously. It looks really nice with promising battery life. It's nicknamed 'the banana phone' cos of its curviture and it comes in yellow (and black). I'm actually really tempted! Not sure when it releases here though, think it only released in the UK very recently. The only downside is the camera, 2mp but I'm not bothered much by that. Retails for about €90-ish.

If that works for you then great but as far as it "having apps" it seems to be limited to little more than Facebook and snake. It's not an android OS so you have to wonder if other companies will bother making apps for it let alone updating them. I'd be surprised if you ever see the likes of whatsapp, viber, Skype or snapchat on it let alone the myriad of other apps that most folk will use on a day to day basis.

I'd have a serious look through your current phones apps, look at what you use other than Facebook and accept the fact that all of the others might never be available to you with this phone.
