i have been using Megazorb for my two dwarfs, they love the stuff and so do i as its very cheap despite using a huge amount of it (id use 40-50 liters a month as they both have quite a large cage each).

Problem is that after a few months of using it i discovered that i am allergic to it to the point where i can not keep using it so i am looking to find something similar and was hoping somebody here might know an alternative which might be similar in consistency that i could try out?!

i do use aspen too which is great for some areas of the cages but it does not allow them to do much digging so its not really an option as a main substrate :(

I’ve never heard of this stuff. Wondering if I’m missing out??

I’ve used wood shavings for years. The nicest one I’ve come across is the Multifit brand from Maxi Zoo

oh it's well worth a try, got it on ebay from england, 26euro (including postage) for 85 liters of it and as i said, my dwarfs love it! :D

i used to use wood shavings too until i read about how harmful some types of wood can be for hamsters and i find it hard to find shavings specifying what it is exactly.
ill use it for emergencies/top ups but im not comfortable making it their permanent substrate. thats just me though :o

ill definitely check out the multifit, thanks dudara!

Didn't know there was a way to get Megazorb in Ireland! I use Carefresh.
