Rear parking sensors cost

How much would it cost to fit rear parking sensors to a 7/8 year old car - just a ballpark figure is all I’m looking for.

Only want an audio alert, not visual. Would ideally like for the sensors to be the same colour as the car.

I bought my own on eBay and put them in myself.
Checked out photos of my car with sensors online and did careful measuring from them.
The holesaw to make the holes comes with the sensors.
Then just run the beeper into the car.i stuck mine at the base of the passenger central pillar.
Then just connect the positive and negative wires to the reverse bulb wires.
    1 hours work (mostly measuring).
    Cost...7 euro!

Nice one. May go that route.
I googled a couple places and looks like 250 Euro is the general cost to get them “professionally” installed.

    Seems very expensive

I was behind a car in traffic last week that had the sensors glued on to the boot lid. The glue was probably the most expensive and difficult part.

I got mine installed by Stephen in Evolution Sounds as well as dash cam hardwired. Perfect job and prices on the website. Saw him recommended by someone else on boards.

I paid €150 as the car was black seems to be an extra €40 to get them sprayed to match the paint work.

exactly this , i installed them on 3 different cars , its as easy to install the visual as well as the audible sound, but after a while you ignore the visual one anyay.
i think mine cost 6 or 7 quid on aliexpress. they come with the drill bit for drilling perfect holes as well . really easy install. just DONT paint over the sensors or it could affect the operation . Even on my factory installed skoda ones if they get really dirty they act the maggot.

If you are handy with a bit of electrical wiring and are able to measure and bore a few holes then it will be less than €20 to fit them. I fitted a set on my wifes car, cost me €12 for the kit from aliexpress. They're beeper only, which is all she needs. They've been fitted now for at least 12 months and no issues.

I could give it a go, but would be worried I would make a b@lls of it.

I installed these myself on my Volvo V50. Took about an hour to do, and that was at 11 pm in the dark night of January in -1 C.

"Sea Blue" is an almost exact match for my car (Barents Blue Pearl) so no painting was needed. Kit came with a drill bit for the correct size hole. Luckily on the Volvo, inside the rear bumper was is marked with the positions of the optional factory sensors, so I didn't even have to measure anything. Ran the wires up to the light cluster and soldered into the reverse light wire. They work really well, just as good as the factory ones on our Ford Smax (although the sensitivity is a little different, so you need to learn what the beep frequency means in terms of distance for each system).

Only problem I've had with them so far was one say there was a drop of rain water right on the sensor which was giving a false positive beep. Quick wipe sorted that out.

    Nice.
So a bit of drilling and soldering is needed.
And then to figure out how the bumper is setup so that you can reach in and grab cables and run to device that emits audio.

Where did you place the audio device?
Do bumpers normally have to be removed for this job ?

I soldered the wires, but you could use scotch locks too. I think soldering is a neater and more durable solution. The V50 has a rubber grommet behind the bumper to run wiring for sensors or tow bar electronics. I just had to snip the top of it off and run the wires through, then reach down and grab them from inside the rear light cluster. I mounted the audio box in a cubby in the boot that gives you access to the rear light cluster. Being an estate with an open load space, it’s a perfect place for it. In a saloon, you’d probably have to move it up into the cabin to hear it.

Bumper would have to be removed alright, because you’re better off drilling from the inside of it. On the V50 it was easy to remove. 8 screws I think, then it just lifted off. On my Smax, I once tried to remove the rear bumper to fix an issue with the factory parking sensors, and gave up after 2 hours of trying. I couldn’t figure it out. It’s probably easy when you know how, but some cars are going to be easier than others.

Are these sensors easily installable on a 2008 Qashqai SVE?

Same way of install on every car, your bumper might be a bit higher so sensors mightnt read right to the ground. Woukdnt worry about it though. I did 2 skoda octavia and a and an astra with out taking bumpers off, so u might be lucky. Thees a crash bar behind most bumpers so drilling through was safe enough.

Would you not be more likely to flake off paint drilling from inside?

I would have though this would be a masking tape on the outside and drill through at a run kind of job for the hole saw?

Actually, you know what, I did do it from the outside (but did take the bumper off).

On my car, the inside of the bumper has the positions for the sensors already marked, so i used a very thin bit to poke a hole in the dead center and then used that to guide the hole saw from the outside.

In the Qashqai two of the sensors are on the lower valance as far as I can remember. All you need to do is search google for a picture of the rear end of a qashqai and note the locations of each sensor.
