You can also try Microsoft store. They also have Huawei Matebook X Pro.

Thanks, I can see it in the US store but I can't select a delivery address outside the states. Is there another way? It's not appearing in the Irish store either.

If you're buying it from Amazon- they have 25% off the i7 8500U with 512Gb SSD- whereas there isn't any discount on the i5 (in the link).

Its actually cheaper to get the i7 with the extra storage- than the i5 (for whatever reason)

those links are for the previous version. The PRO is the new version.

in the us the lucky feckers had a 300 dollar rebate deal going to get the i5 non mx150 version for 900 $

Also looking for this - it's on the amazon german site now but I presume with a german keyboard

The 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, GeForce MX150 version of this is available on Amazon UK for ~1700 euros delivered to Ireland. Is this good value?

In the market for high end productivity ultrabook style laptop soon and hovering between this, XPS 13 or even going more value for money and getting the new Inspiron 13 7380. The lack of 16GB option on Amazon for the Huawei is kind of off-putting but it has the daicent dedicated graphics card that would perfectly fit my light-medium gaming habits (and in an Ultrabook!!). Am I really missing out on much not having 16GBs of RAM? I'm used to using 16GB in work. Not doing anything too intensive, mainly coding, maybe running a VM, aforementioned gaming and music recording/production stuff.

I have it on pre-order with them at the moment (said it was in stock yesterday but still didn't ship :()
It is getting hard to justify at that price though compared to the states.
Zenbook, XPS and Lenovo are probably better value but still really like the design of the Matebook.
There's new Zenbooks coming out with the latest Intel architecture

also a revised version of the Yoga (C930) - I have the Yoga 2 Pro at the moment which has been great so may cancel and wait for this

even allowing for VAT the prices on medium to high-end laptops are so much more in Europe - bitter pill to swallow.

Did anyone get the Matebook x Pro in the end? I'd be curious to hear how it worked out. I have my eye on the one on the US version on Amazon.com as the UK model appears to only have 8GB RAM.

Same here, the 8gb is the only thing stopping me buying it. It's also a pity that the xps 14 doesn't exist, I think I would find the xps 13 too small. Anyone have any recommendations?

Lenovo Ideapad 720s 14 has MX150 graphics card, upgradeable (single channel) RAM and Thunderbolt port.

HP Envy 13 is smaller has MX150 but soldered RAM.

XPS 13 might be just big enough you never know.

I ordered the 16gb version from Amazon Germany as Huawei said it would have an English keyboard, it didn't so I sent it back.

Great looking laptop though but I actually missed the handiness of a convertible I have Lenovo yoga 2 at the moment.

So I ordered the new yoga C930 and should get it this week.
Similar specs - just doesn't have the MX150. Lenovo also had 200 off it last week for a few hours :)

Think I might look at the xps 13 again. Maybe the screen is bigger then I think but the thin bezzles just make it look smaller

If anyone knows someone state side, the i7/16GB Ram/512GB SSD is $150 off for Black Friday:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/huawei-matebook-x-pro-laptop/8n4k86d4j006

Crazy price difference VS the European models.

well there is no vat on the us prices so that accounts for 23% straight off (in Ireland). in the US you'd be adding their sales tax (~10%) at checkout. so not directly comparable.

but still a difference. this model seems to be barely available in Europe which is another aspect. must not be officially available here.

the i5 with mx150 is 1450 on amazon Germany which is not too bad. there is not much of a performance bump from i5 to i7 in the mobile u chips (<10%) so it's not worth the extra money really.

slim chance of a discount over this week. keep an eye on it. to up the ssd you can buy a 480gb ssd for less than 60 euro on amazon.co.uk
upgrading the ram is more expensive as ram is pricey at the moment and a 1 x 16gb ram sodimm would be 120 euro +

well on the amazon listing if you select the top spec there is a seller selling for 1250 in the other sellers price. could ask them a question through the amazon feature to do so
    https://www.amazon.de/sp?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B07F8TLP9R&isAmazonFulfilled=0&isCBA=&marketplaceID=A1PA6795UKMFR9&orderID=&seller=A2LPL5VPV29VAG&tab=&vasStoreID=

will still go through amazon so protected?

btw 8gb is fine for the vast majority of people - only need 16gb if you're editing video really - check your ram usage in task manager.

with buying this through states due to the price you'd be liable for collection fee + vat + duty (if not duty exempt)- no sure what the duty rate is.

It's more about future proofing the laptop, as these models (and most new laptops) are not upgradable after purchase.

Rumours of a refreshed EUR model in February, so potentially worth waiting if you can't get a US model on the cheap.

soldered ram is increasing in laptops but still not the norm.

yes must be due a cpu upgrade as those cpus are old at this stage.
